1978 losses?
I know I'm way behind most of you guys, but with a view to adding to the Wanted List Routines topic, I was wondering if any of the 1978 routines by Legs were wiped, or is this the first complete archival year?
Donna Summer, R.I.P.
Very sad news about Donna. I know Legs and Co. danced to at least three of her songs, two of them in 1978: Rumour Has It (the only one I've seen) and MacArthur Park. The other I know of is 1977's Love's Unkind.
My own favourite was This Time I Know It's for Real.
Donna Summer
Gosh, I wondered what I'd missed - but just looked at the BBC News.
Thanks for alerting us, Cornershop.
Artist with the mostest
Sorry to hear this, she was a true Queen of the disco era and actually Legs & Co danced to more of her songs than any other artist if I recall a comment of Jez's in the past correctly. Some real classics like Deep Down Inside, Love's Unkind, Bad Girls and Hot Stuff. Sad to hear she's gone.
Rusty
Very Sad News
I just cought the news about Donna Sommer, very sad news indeed, I love 1970s Disco and Soul music, I loved Donna Sommers music, we also lost Adndrea True some months ago, two Disco Legends sadly gone.
RIP Donna Summer
Very sad news.Love so much of her music. As well as the songs mentioned above,i love 'Back In Love Again' and 'I Feel Love'.Only a couple of months ago i came across a 7" single 'Rumour Has It' for a quid, and added it to my collection.

Yes it's such a shock - I
Yes it's such a shock - I Feel Love was - and still is - a true classic.
1978 Legs
A very big thank you from me to Andy for helping out with the Legs routines from 1978 on - saving me a lot of work. Well done Andy!
Hi Panfan/Andy
Everybody Dance on 27/4/78, the Jimmy S hosted show, was a repeat of 13/4.
And can confirm that the 16/11//78 show is not unknown. The archive copy has been checked and there was no Legs performance that week.
Also although I've not studied them all closely I have the impression that Lulu seems to have slipped through the net with regards to some of the dances in the initials column. For instance she was certainly up for a spot of Boogie Oogieing and for waving her baguette at old Plastic.
Thanks, Suefan, we'll get
Thanks, Suefan, we'll get those corrections in...
I have changed the tables so
I have changed the tables so Lulu is there Thanks for the help
(what a mistaker to maker)
Year 1979, 80 and 81 have all been done
Hi Andy, somewhere over on
Hi Andy, somewhere over on OFTD there is a thread called the "Attendance Thread" in which I listed all the non-appearances of the Legs ladies which, if you can find it, you are welcome to use if it is of any help in tweaking your listing. All six girls took part in "I Thought It Was You" but there was no sign of Gill doing the "Boogie Oogie" unfortunately.
Just had a look at them and
Just had a look at them and made some alterations many thanks.
The ones I left blank were ones which I didn't have the routine
Was having a look at the
Was having a look at the Smurf Song
I think the Smurfs are
Rosie on Pipe , Sue with Glasses
Lulu Papa Smurf and Pauline smurfing out of tune
What do others think?
Hi again Andy.
Hi again Andy.
I think the fours Smurfs were Sue (glasses), Rosie (pipe), Pauline (singing out of key) and Gill (under the white beard).
Yes that also sounds right
Yes that also sounds right
Publicity for a routine or a fashion shoot?
A great picture of four of the dancers but the date of the caption (26th October 1978) doesn't match the two routines they performed on that day's Top of the Pops - E.L.O.'s Sweet Talkin' Woman and Instant Replay by Dan Hartman.
I recognise Sue, Gill and Lulu but am less sure about Patti. If that's her (third in the line-up) she looks more like fellow model Patti Boyd in that picture. Anouska Hempel too, with eyes like Louise.
As for the others, you can just about see Pauline and then Rosie on the left:
Female dance troupe Legs & Co., of the BBC's 'Top of the Pops', at a studio in Bow Street, London.
Lulu seems a bit out of sorts there. I miss Terence Donovan, the photographer, who was a great personality. I remember his daughter Daisy presented a show with comedian Iain Lee for a while.
Lovely Casual Shot
I love this latter "natural" picture with Sue and Patti chatting with Gill. Shame Lulu was chilled but probably a drafty BBC venue or something. All the ladies look so fantastic and i always like it when their attire is so varied. Thanks so much for posting these Cornershop
Rusty
I wonder if they were cold?
I wonder if they were cold? Nice finds, Cornershop!
Lulu certainly doesn't look
Lulu certainly doesn't look too well here, she possibly has a cold, there's a chill in the air making her more sensitive giving her the shivers, & hence her wrapping her arms around herself like that, she also looks like she's about to sneeze!
Justin
Looks like both Sue and Patti
Looks like both Sue and Patti have folder arms too, so maybe it was a little chilly!
Cold
It seems to me that they were told to pose 'straight',and in doing so the first picture doesn't do them justice.I'd have preferred to have seen something of their personalities.Poor Lulu looks chilled to the bone in the outtake.Legs & Co used pictures from this session for promotion. Here are two autographed photos.
Glenn
1978 thumbnails
Many thanks to Andy for his sterling work in doing the 1978 thumbnails. I just recall the time it took me to do the few months of Ruby Flipper, so I applaud the dedication it takes to do the years of Legs thumbnails!
