I could swear that I'd read somewhere recently that Sue Menhenick was born on February 9th not September 9th 1955. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Hehe, it seems to change back and forth!  We originally had February, then someone said it should be September, so we changed it.

Maybe we were wrong - any other opinions?

Suefan's picture

We're not wrong.  Stick to September.

Ruth - July 13, 1946

Sue - Sept 9, 1955

Dee Dee - Sept 24, 1946

Cherry - Feb 2, 1955

Babs - Nov 28, 1945

I'm keen to make progress on this, so please post below any dates at your finger tips so we can add them in!

First/last dates of this that and the other, main events etc!

Suefan's picture

19/03/1981 Lately from Stevie Wonder  -  Pauline's final appearance

panfan's picture

Thanks Suefan! It's really great having all you TOTP experts around. I think I must have been given a fail for that subject - didn't pay enough attention!

Suefan's picture

Another final appearance would be Rosie's on the  22/10/81 show although unfortunately by that date the girls were reduced to providing backing, and to some frankly shocking groups at that.  Sue, Lulu, Patti and Gill all took part in the 29/10/81 show which was their last appearance.

By the way how do I edit my last question to Sue.  I meant to write 'in the middle of the SET regarding that frayed carpet, not STEP.

panfan's picture

Thanks Suefan, I added those dates, also to the Biographies.

I do appreaciate all the help with the dates.  I know it seems awfully lazy of me, but I've got such a big to do list here that any little help saves valuable time and gets it done sooner rather than later!

panfan's picture

I forgot to say I edited your Sue question - will have to sort out somethnig re the ability to edit, please bear with me!

Suefan's picture

Hi Panfan, thanks for editing that Sue question about the carpet.  A few more dates which are to hand:

28/5/81  -  Anita's first performance in Legs  (Enigma  "Ain't No Stopping Us Now")

6/6/74 -  Sue's debut (Isley Brothers  "Summer Breeze")

16/5/74  -  Louise's final dance (Jim Stafford  "There's A Ghost In My House")

25/9/75  -  Mary and Lee debut to (Art Garfunkel  "I Only Have Eyes For You").  In this routine the six girls wore long white dresses but fortunately they didn't have to dance around with candelabras on their heads.

I'm not sure which was Dee Dee's last dance on TOTP.  I wonder if the lass herself can recall.

panfan's picture

Thanks Suefan, added those in - it's slowly begining to take shape!

We can certainly add events, even if we are unsure of the exact date, so please all add some seminal events that need adding!

Can any of you TOTP sleuths advise on this:

1968

April 04 Pan's People debut on TOTP as a three piece: Flick, Ruth, Dee Dee, dancing to Simon Says / 1910 Fruitgum Co.
April 18 Flick, Ruth, Dee Dee dance to Cry Like a Baby / The Box Tops
May 30 Pan's People perform as a sextet to "US Male" by Elvis Presley

I always thought they debuted as the trio of Flick, Dee Dee and Ruth, but I have heard it said that the Simon Says performance was just two of them.

Thanks to Ryan and Sue for adding a good number of missing birthdays!

hi ,dont know if you need this info still ,but legs and co debut song was queen of my soul by the average white band on the 21/10/76 although they were credited for the first 3 weeks as dancers ,due to a competition for the viewers to send in a new name for the dance troupe ,zoo first performance was to ,twilight by elo on the 5/11/81 and their last routine was to what i got is what you need by unique on the 29/9/83 edition of totp

JEZ's picture

also the final performance on the 29/10/81 the girls were used just as backing dancers to the groups ,haircut 100 and boy meets girl and to altered images ,happy birthday ,their last official dance that they did as a dance troupe on their own ,was on the 15/10/81 dancing to the birdie song by the tweets all the members apart from sue were present for this routine

I've added a fair number of birthdays for the Gojos, Zoo, YG/2G and Ladybirds, provided by Gary.
