Thanks Rusty.Louise looks stunning in this I agree.They all look stunningly beautiful.Yes it's 'The Two Ronnies' from Thursday 3rd January 1974-originally dancing to 'Hip Hug Her' a 1967 song by Booker T & The MGs.I think 'The Hustle' by Van McCoy is a vast improvement.

I CANNOT believe it. Days after Louise passing this re-dub is posted up and described as one of 'her best', when in her own words these dubbed videos were pointless. Give me strength!!
Good intentions
I'm sure Flight14 had good intentions when he posted the video. He probably wasn't aware of what Louise had said. Flight14 wouldn't wish to offend Louise or any of the dancers. He's trying his best and will make sure nothing like this occurs again.

Yes now you mention this PP4ever I recall Louise's opinion and there are certainly others who believe redubs are just cheap forgeries too. I struggle with this as some are skillfully done and work well with the new music attached. This was posted as a tribute in good faith too.

What the h*** is all this about?
I posted 'The Hustle-VanMcCoy' on here as a tribute to Louise & her memory.I know that some members don't like switched songs but prefer original songs to stay with original dances.I respect that opinion.I just don't happen to agree with it. In other words;there are those who have no problem with switched songs & actually prefer a better song if it improves on the original song.So it depends which side you fall on.There is an easy solution:If you don't like it don't watch it,no one's forcing you to but don't spoil it for everyone else who does appreciate it & enjoys it.
To even make the slightest suggestion that I might have done something to offend Louise's memory or to have gone against her wishes is really nonsense & you guys know it. How dare you make such an offensive accusation to me?.
I am now considering my future on this website as a result of both PP4ever & Gary's above offensive comments.I will raise the issue with Panfan before I make the final decision.I make arduous efforts to find videos to share on here.I do it for all P P fans.I have the best of intentions.I have better ways to spend my time & effort if what I do is not appreciated.I don't need this crap.I really really don't need to post anything,anymore.Period.I have better places to go & things to do.It takes ages to find & post a new or interesting P P video.I though it was worth the time & effort but now I am not so sure & doubt if I will bother in future.
Continued offensive remarks directed at me with be a guarantee that I will permanently leave this website. if you want me to leave then, carry on as you are.......

Redub Misunderstanding
I feel really badly about this debate for F14 especially but also for PP4ever. Everyone cares about the ladies of the Dance Troupes and that's why we're all here. There has been heartfelt discussion on OFTDs about this same issue. Can I ask PanFan and those who administrate the site whether it's possible to have some kind of policy about Redubbed videos so that any misunderstanding is minimized?

I'm sad about the way things have changed here. This used to be a lively place with interesting discussions. Now it's more like a ghost town. Several former active members have stopped posting for whatever reasons. The only 'discussion' last weekend was a thread about a quiz on OFTD... What does this tell us about this place?
Flight14 is one of the very few members left that still start new threads. His posts may not be everyone's taste but these contributions are vital to keep this site alive. As much as I respect different opinions about those controversial redubs (I never knew how controversial they are), we should express these opinions with mutual respect and understanding. If we start picking on the few active members left, we might as well switch out the light and shut the door.

I'm so very sorry there has been a problem here. I hope and pray that when the sun rises tomorrow that tensions will have dissipated and we can try to resume as before.
At the risk of derailing this thread (maybe not such a bad thing !!), I am so sorry that I not been around so much lately. I lost a good month or so in the summer and am working hard to catch up with life. Obviously I have to put personal work first, so I haven't had so much time here. But please do bear with me and things will improve as the weeks go by. I have had so much stuff to attend too, I've hardly had a moment to post much here, (I'm still catching up with correspondence) and am aware I am way behind in the videos, let alone the interviews. All I can do is profusely apologise if anyone has felt let done and ask you to understand it has not been through loss of interest but from health reasons.
My RSI has maybe been a blessing in disguise, as it forced me to take a break when I was on the point of total mental and physical exhaustion. For over a year I had been spending anything from six to sixteen hours a day working on this site (on top of everything else), with hardly a day off, and this was completely unsustainable in the long run. I am slowly working my way back to normality, but if I push too hard at the moment, I'll end up completely burnt out and will be no use to anyone. All I can do is profusely apologise and ask people to bear with me. I have done my best to sustain discussion in the past, but I or anyone else can't be relied on to constantly lead things. If this means a quiet period for a while, then I can't do much about it in the meantime.
So, let's hope we can start getting the wagons back on the tracks and head on towards our destination!

Take as long as you need to fully recover, coming back full-time too early will only slow down your recovery, we'll all try & keep things going smoothly here in the mean time, if we all get a good night's sleep, maybe any tensions about this place will blow themselves out!

I agree with Scrooge about the recent quiet atmosphere here but I don't want you to feel personally responsible for this PanFan. There are several other previous regulars not posting as they used to. Perhaps this is just due to Summer breaks or something but it is a shame that we seem to have mislaid some really valuable people somewhere.
