Has anyone found this useful (if they've found it, or course!).

Until I get the Recent Comments nightmare sorted, I'm thinking of putting a block on the right hand column with this and maybe a few other essential items for newcomers and reference.

Any suggestions for improvement to this? Or additional items to include?

Polls, popular content, today's popular content perhaps? There was something else but it's gone clean out my mind fir the moment...

I would be surprised if many people have seen it though, as it is not that easy to find. Maybe Panfan you could find a way oif making it more visible.

Then regular visitors could think what they would like new visitors to see to get to know the site. The idea is simply to have a site tour that will suit people new to the site.

Popular content or active forum topics gives an idea of what is currently happening on the site. But I think there is a need to guide new visitors to certain areas that will give them an idea of what the site has to offer. The current selection is only a first attempt and I am sure that with the help of regular visitors we can get the selection right.

So let me know what you think should be added/changed and I will be happy to do the editing.

I actually think this is really helpful - but a shame I didn't find it when I first signed up.  Nonetheless, this site is such a rich one, I had a great deal of fun exploring everything...and I'd recommend it to anyone!

Can someone please confirm that when their registration was approved they received a Welcome message from the Site (not a PM)? I was thinking if this works ok I should edit it to include links to this page and the All Recent Content Tracker.
