A soft spot for Gill

I've got a soft spot for Gill. She never seems get any attention. There are many routines where i think she's just great.Sunday Girl,Never Let Her Slip Away,Supernature,my favourite Love's Unkind,Red Light Spells Danger. These are just a few of the dances where Gill shines. She was good and i like her.

I have to agree with you, gibb1962. Gill is my favourite Legs & Co member. She might not have the balletic poise of Patti or Sue, but she is a highly skilled dancer with a sensuality that IMHO none of the other Legs & Co girls can match. I think this is shown particularly well in her performance to "Please Don't Go". Apart from some of the numbers you mention - particularly "Sunday Girl" and "Supernature" - I think Gill's skill as a dancer and performer is shown particularly well in "Morning Dance", "Lady" and "The Groove". I think there should be more appreciation of Gill as she is often forgotten. Her name wasn't even mentioned in the Legs & Co segment of Arlene Philips' documentary, "Super Troupers", losing out to Patti who was mentioned twice!

Whilst I'm standing up for Gill, why is she one of the only dancers not to have at least a couple of lines in her biography? We have biographies for all manner of Zoo dancers who may only have appeared once or twice on the TOTP, but hardly anything on Gill expect for her date and place of birth. Surely she deserves a line or two?

Hi PRL

Of course Gill deserves more than a line or two. I'm constantly working on the biographies, researching each dancer and finding out as much information as possible. Gill's biography will be posted as soon as I have enough information on her. Some dancers are easier to research than others. For example, lot's of information can be found on Dee Dee and Babs but it's harder to find any on Andrea. There isn't a lot of information on Gill, other than her being the winner of several beauty titles and being the last to join Legs & Co. Everyone has their favourite dancer and I try to please everyone as best I can. I originally contacted panfan to ask if I could write biogs for PP - at the time, we didn't anticipate that we'd end up writing biographies for Legs & Co, RF, the Gojos - and the list of dance troupes is constantly expanding, which means more work for all of us. I promise to do Gill's biography soon.

Best wishes

Gary

Hi PRL!

We'll do what we can to fill in the gaps: as you might gather, there's tremendous amounts to do on the site (eg simple things: I still have dozens of thumbnails for the bios to do), but I'll mention it to Gary. If you can help with any details, to get things started, that would be most appreciated.

Some dancers (eg Zoo) had contacted us with details, so that is why things might appear sporadic and unsystematic: it's nothing to do with priority!

Maybe someone would like to start a Gill gallery, screen grabs etc of her finest moments?

Just to let you know if you don't notice it, but Gary's been quick off the bat and updated Gill's biography page this morning.

I took my pics from YouTube and didn't do anything to them. You could photoshop yours and decrease the size easily.I have 'Paint' on my PC and that does the trick.
