I would like to start a thread of my favourite, the sweetest girl the beautiful Lulu with the cutest little face Apart from Anita she was the last of the girls I saw which was in “Silly Love Songs” which is one of my favourites. A wonderful introduction to the lovely lady.

Silly Love Songs
Hi Andy, I totally agree about the lovely young Lulu and she was great in Silly Love Songs although my own favorite routine with Lulu is Don't Push It with Legs & Co in 1980. I'm not sure i understand your reference to Anita above, as Cherry and Patti were in Silly Love Songs with Lulu (and they both look quite lovely too)
Rusty
The Last Girl
Sorry what I meant was when I 1st got into Pans People I got a tape which had loads UK Gold Pans routines so I saw all the Pans Girls the 1st Legs routine I saw was "Out of the Groove" in which Lulu was missing I then got a tape of Ruby Flipper and Legs & Co and the 1st on the tape was "Silly Love Songs" and I saw Lulu for the 1st time it was later I saw Anita
I agree with you about "Don't Push It" that is one of my top Legs routines and Lulu is my favorite in it. I'll have to get some screen caps of that one.
1st Legs I saw
The 1st Legs was "Bobby Thurston-Check Out The Groove" not "Out of the Grove" I typed it wrong
Lulu!
Yes, Lulu is sooooo beautiful, and being so young (only 16 in those pics) she has a real cheeky charm about her. Especially with that hairstyle!
I do like Silly Love Songs, though it gets the old pulse racing a bit - the song is supposed to be romantic really, LOL. There's a great clip on YouTube where someone has put a different piece of music to it, and it really fits very well. And of course, I used a grab from that routine to make my avatar.
I've mainly seen Lulu's Ruby Flipper routines on the repeats, rather than much Legs & Co stuff. My favourites have been The Contintental, Rubberband Man, Let 'Em In... all of them really. I got the Ruby Flipper DVD and everything she does on it is great.

There's a DVD?? I'm new here
There's a DVD?? I'm new here so any details about the DVD would be gratefully received!
Flipper DVD
Hi there,
I think he's referring to a 'Best of Ruby Flipper' fan made compilation DVD that's been sold on ioffer or some such auction site. I haven't checked for a while, bit don't think it was on eBay...
Hopefully Cherry's Eyebrows can confirm!
Ah, many thanks - that's
Ah, many thanks - that's interesting...and tempting!
Lulu in 'Play That Funky Music'
As requested by Lee and Mary Fan, here's Lulu in my favourite Ruby Flipper routine:
Broadcast 14th October 1976, when ABBA's Dancing Queen was #1.
Another from Funky Music
Great Screen Caps Another from "Play That Funky Music" and one of my faves "Dont Push It"
Thanks Guys
Thank You Cornershop & Andy,
Spoilt for choice!!, great work, its my first day back at work after two weeks off with the flu, so your screencaps came at the right time to cheer me up.
Legs & Co Christmas Screen Caps
A few screen caps from Christmas shows
xmas pix
Hi could someone tell what videos these pictures are from?i would like to see the vids on YouTube.
Thanks Glenn.
Glenn
The Christmas Screen Caps
The screen caps are from (from top to bottom)
1-Christmas Day 1980 from the end of the show after the showing of "Brick in the Wall" the girls are given a chocolate and wave goodbye
2-18th Dec 80 as Cherry's Eyebrows said it was to "John Lennon-Starting Over"
3-Christmas Day 1978 dancing to "John Travolta & Olivia Newton John-Summer Nights"
Lulu in 'Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel'
I haven't seen the Christmas shows yet. They look great in the last shot, especially Sue.
I've loved Tavares' record since it was a hit, and was an avid viewer of Top of the Pops at the time, but don't think I saw (or, more likely, didn't pay attention to) the girls' wonderful dancing. Maybe this should be my favourite Ruby Flipper routine?:
With Gavin and Philip as devils, and 'angel' Patti waiting in the wings (or for them!).
Lulu looks like she has four arms here. The other two belong to the heavenly Sue:
"Merry Christmas, Andy!"
Flick must have loved incorporating the 'arms reaching out' part of her routines.
With Cherry and Sue:
Broadcast 15th July 1976, when The Real Thing's You to Me Are Everything was No.1
re "You To Me Are Everything" routine pics
It may be just my twisted mind, but I can't help thinking that those halos look like hangman's nooses, about to strangle the lovely Lulu & the other girls, the top pic is fine but certainly the halos in the other shots aren't as well placed!
Justin
See how sad they look
See how sad they look in the second Christmas picture. That was the routine for Just Like Starting Over, immediately following John's murder.

Lulu Starting Over Screen Caps
Wonderful screen caps of a beautiful angel thanks cornershop and a Merry Christmas.
I 1st saw “Heaven must be Missing a Angel” when it was shown on TOTP2 a lovely routine its one of the sweetest.
The bottom one of my screen caps is from the Christmas day 1978 where Noel hosts it in a room rather than the TOTP studio, I have seen a trailer in which Noel mentions it which was recorded when he hosted TOTP (which he didn’t do since September).
Here are 2 screen caps of Lulu in the 1st time they danced to “Starting Over” I always think the girls were meant to be dolls in this routine.
Lulu on TOTPs
I love Lulu in Donna Summer's Love's Unkind. The whole group was good really. The routine was well choreographed and suited the song perfectly;it's just a lovely.
Glenn
Wowza!
Can anyone find a BAD pic of lovely Lulu? I doubt it! All this screengrabs are great!
I especially like Lulu as an angel, a real picture of beauty!
And more so in Play That Funky Music - not so angelic but amazingly sexy!!!
But gibb1962's icon photo is one for the wallet (or mobile phone in this modern age!) :D
Jase
Gibb's Avatar of Lulu
That's one of mine as well! From Rubberband Man:
"Merry Christmas, Jase!"
I just melted! Swoon! :D
I just melted! Swoon! :D
lulu's picture
I looked everywhere for a good picture for my avatar. At first i couldn't decide on Rosie or Lulu. Then i saw this one and it's just perfect-thanks Cornershop.I have another one of the lovely Lulu for the other group-that one is from Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel;very appropriate i thought.
Glenn.

Lulu Really Does Look Like Amanda Holden
Jase was right, Lulu in her 1976 era really does look like Amanda Holden from the tv Series The Grimleys, maybe a picture of the two lovely ladies edited together?.....Cornershop, over to you, lol.
This I am looking forward to!
This I am looking forward to! It was a really good series The Grimleys, funny and nostalgic too. Wouldn't it be funny to see Amanda playing the part of Lulu in a dance troupe tribute! :D
Another Double Take
It would Jase, nice idea.
I think Rosie in her early days with Legs & Co looked rather like Mary Corpe, compair Mary in Theme From Mahogany routine Rosie in Let Em In routine.......at this rate Im going to have to change my name to Lee, Mary, Sue, Lulu, Dee Dee, Andrea & Rosie Fan!!.
Well since you're coming to
Well since you're coming to be a fan of them all, there's another word used to mean all, eg panorama, pandemic, pantheon.
So you would have to change your name to, em, panfan?!
Name Change
Very Good Panfan,
But I will stay loyal to my lovely ladies Lee & Mary, lol
Lulus Hair
When I saw Amanda in The Grimleys the 1st thing I thought was that they have copied Lulus hair
If you have seen the video for Gilbert O’Sullivan Twos Company with Harry Hill which looks like it is meant to be TOTPs it has 4 dancers one which has a Lulu hair style but dark haired
Hmm... decisions, decisions....
Both are stunners, so it would be a tough choice. I guess it would be the last one to get out the pepper spray! Lol!
Lulu Double
I think the picture of Lulu and Amanda Holden from The Grimleys are doubles, I would love to know what Lulu thinks?.
Lulu, if you get to read this.......I adore this mid 1970s style and I know some of the other guys here do as well.
Cornershop, please work your magic and give us a double take picture useing Gibbs Avatar and the picture of Amanda from The Grimleys.
Can anyone remember the Pilot episode of The Grimleys, Samantha Janus played Miss Tittly before Amamada Holden took over for the series.
Comparisons between Lulu and Miss Titley
Sorry for the delay, Lee and Mary Fan. Busy with other posts.
Publicity photo of Amanda Holden for The Grimleys (1999):
Lulu Cartwright during Ruby Flipper's routine for Rubberband Man (1976).
Back To The Future
Thank You Cornershop for this fantastic double take, my heart just skipped a beat, I would love to know what Lulu would make of this double take and hope she will see it as a compliment as thats how its meant
Meh!
Meh, Amanda Holden's not a patch on beautiful Lulu!
And talking of Lulu, I always love it when she sings along on some of the Ruby Flipper songs - e.g. the Stylistics one, Shake Your Booty, My Resistance Is Low... I'm sure I don't remember anyone from Pan's People singing along like that, but in the early days Lulu looks like she just couldn't help herself, she was enjoying it so much!
Paul -- Cherry, Lulu, Patti ♥♥♥
snap!
Well I think that pair of pics illustrates my point entirely, Lulu looks like Miss Titley, or vice versa. Although I can now say that Lulu is clearly the most attractive.
Excellent find of the Amanda Holden photo cornershop!
Jase
And A Snap From Me
Well, I also see double when with Lulu & Amanda ( as Miss Titley ), Amanda played such a lovely character in The Grimleys, she was fun, kind & gentle, just how I imagine Lulu to be.
A few years ago, a dvd of The Grimleys was about to be released but nothing came of it, such a shame, it was very funny, it had a great 1970s soundtrack and captured the era so well, funny to see Noddy Holder playing the Music Teacher.
Well yes...
OK they look like twins in those pics. But I've seen Amanda Holden enough times on TV to know that I don't fancy her, but I adore Lulu so I don't know how that works lol :-)
Paul -- Cherry, Lulu, Patti ♥♥♥
You Sure Love Lulu
I enjoy reading your comments, it sure comes across how much you adore Lulu, thats how I am with Mary.
Were you a fan of Lulu since her Ruby Flipper days?
The Grimleys
I really enjoyed the series too, and it is about time they released it on DVD.
Funnily, I never fancied Amanda Holden until I saw her on this!
Maybe seeing her rekindled the feelings I had for Lulu back in the 70s?
Lol!
Jase
Lulu in New Kid in Town
Here are some pictures of Lulu in Legs & Co.'s performance of "New Kid in Town" on 27-01-1977. Love the different expressions on her face!
lovely Lulu
Thanks for the pics.I love this routine,it's different and tries to tell a story.I feel sorry for our Lulu in the end.
